Nin wrote to me sometime last winter with this idea he had to do a Kathy Acker inspired rock opera. My Ny resolution at the time was to get ripped af so I thought it clicked pretty well with her whole bodybuilding thing. Janey is the central character from her Blood And Guts In High School and we decided to use her as a kind of anchor to spin off whatever residues of our own teenage angst we’ve been holding on to XD…We also tried watching Euphoria together but it sucked bad... Nin has been recording and editing at home, I, Sas, have been sending him voice memos of emo guitar songs and then he sends me Tik-Toks of cottage-core influencers back…For us Janey has been about heartbreak, puberty, age paranoia, pop punk, nostalgia and death-drive???

Janey is at home. She was just dreaming. She reaches for her phone but decides against it. She creeps towards the mirror instead. She rubs her eyes awake, another day, still no freckles. Humming under her breath, she falls backwards…🎶 I wish I had a boyfriend…I wish I had a father. Maybe then I would have turned out right…
